MSBuild.ExtensionPack.Communication.Email - Password

Jul 14, 2010 at 7:15 PM
In the Email Members documentation ( http://www.msbuildextensionpack.com/help/3.5.3.0/html/0f843631-f9a8-f071-4355-3ed91b81a085.htm ) I expected to see a member called "password" to go with "MailFrom" but I did not. Is there a way to input a password? <MSBuild.ExtensionPack.Communication.Email TaskAction="Send" Subject="Test Email" SmtpServer="hh-01.hh.com" MailFrom="aar@myCompany.com" MailTo="@(Recipient)" Body="body text" />

Hi Jennifer Password for what? Do you need to authenticate with SMTP server with different credentials? The task uses 'UseDefaultCredentials', so whichever user identity is running the task will need to have access to the SMTP server to send emails. I'm not saying this is right though! I'll update the task so support credentials. This will ship in the next release ETA August. Mike

This should allow you to specify credentials now. http://msbuildextensionpack.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/changes/51781 if you compile the latest code and skip strong name verification for it, you can test it. From the q & a Q6. Why am I getting strong name failures? A. If you download the sourcecode and build your own library, you will need to register the assemblies for verification skipping. To do this, open a .net command prompt and run the following: sn.exe -Vr *,10d297e8e737fe34 Mike
