StyleCop version problems

Jul 15, 2010 at 9:00 AM

I'm in the process of upgrading our build server and have run into problems with the StyleCop task. The current version of the extensions pack (3.5.6.0) is tied to StyleCop version 4.4.0.9, but the current (and only available) version of StyleCop is release candidate 4.4.0.12.

As a result I get this error "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.StyleCop, Version=4.4.0.9, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Any suggestions for how to fix this?

You could download the latest code in the 3.5.7.0 or 4.0.1.0 branches, compile locally, skip verification for the key and use the new binary, or you could download the new signed binary I just added to the download page: http://msbuildextensionpack.codeplex.com/releases/view/39087

Yes, you can download a signed version of the MSBuild.ExtensionPack.StyleCop for StyleCop 4.4.0 RTW from the release page.
