Assembly.FileVersion formatting

Hi,

Is is possible without writing custom tasks etc to apply any custom formatting to the version returned by Assembly.FileVersion?

Thanks

The Task provides no functionality for that.

As you are using the MSBEP, you could use TextString.Format.

If you are on .net 4, then you could prob use a property function http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd633440.aspx

If you let me know what you are after, then I'll look into adding it for the next release.

I am using the MSBEP so I will check out that format.

What I am trying to do is determine the file version to use for creating a folder to drop the build outputs in. I want to format the version number so that folders sort correctly.

I also have it stored in a .cs text file so I may be able to parse that.

Thanks
