RoboCopy Task without messages ("Quiet")?

Jun 24, 2011 at 9:18 AM

is it possible to execute the RoboCopy task without having the output messages on the command line? (something like "echo off" in normal batch files...)

Thanks in advance,

The task exposes LogToConsole which is false by default. Are you looking to display less?

Yes i do not want to see any message at all, except real errors. (as i wrote
before: like ECHO OFF in normal batches).

Is that possible somehow? (Hint: i am a total newbie with MSBuild!)

You can try setting SuppressTaskMessages="true"

That did not work.

I tried to set it as normal property in a property group and tried to set it as environment variable but i still get the message "Running c:\somepath c:\somedestination...."

Ah sorry, that task derives from ToolTask and we don't provide a means to use that . Can you try /v:m to specify minimal verbosity.

Yes. Meanwhile i call the project with "/verbosity:minimal" and i have changed all <Message> calls to include the attribute "Importance=High" where i really want to see messages.

Not an ideal solution but it works.
