First Post..... Please be gentle....

I am using the MsBuild Extension pack v4.0 in an attempt to automate deployment

Unfortunately, all my attempts thus far end in timeout errors :

[14:DEBUG] [StaffApplications-Build C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\MSBuild.exe]   C:\NET\WebSite\StaffApplications\FTP-Upload-StaffApplications.xml(16,5): error : Win32Exception: Error code: 12002. Please see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/193625

Can anyone tell me - does the ftp class support FTP Passive mode - I am lead to believe that it does by this :

I am lead to understand by this (http://subversion.assembla.com/svn/GHFtpTask/Workspace/Release/Extra/README.htm) that the Ftp class supports the use of Passive Mode.

However - if I use this :

<MSBuild.ExtensionPack.Communication.Ftp
   TaskAction="UploadFiles"
   Host="$(ftpHost)"
   FileNames="@(FilesToUpload)"
   RemoteDirectoryName="$(ftpRemoteDirectory)"
   WorkingDirectory="\NET\Publish\StaffApplications\"
   ContinueOnError="true"
   UsePassiveConnection="true"
   MaximumConnectionLifetime="90"
   Verbose="true"/>

I have the error : The "UsePassiveConnection" parameter is not supported by the "MSBuild.ExtensionPack.Communication

Is PassiveMOde available to be from MsBuild by some other means.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi Paul
The FTPTask you link to in the post is in no way related to the MSBuild Extension Pack.
From what I can tell, the task uses Passive mode. I’m not sure why your task is timing out.
