There are any plans to build up tasks like in Sql2012 Namespace for remote usage?

Or did i missed something to use them to create a Database on an SqlServer that is not locally on the buildserver?

SQL 2012 tasks are there. They are provided in the 3.5 and 4.0 source code, but looking at the installers teh 3.5 installer is missing the assemblies. I'll take a look at that soon.

Are you on .net 3.5 or 4.0?

I am on .net 4.0 and already tried to use the Sql2012.Database class but getting an error that "Microsoft.AnalysisServices" can not be found.
So I am not sure if there a way to use this tasks remotely. And if so how to configure the server?

Try to explain my scenario again: The buildserver(running the msbuild.script) and the database server are not the same machine. But the buildserver needs to create databases to run the tests.

thx for ur investigation.

Can you download the code from and then add the assemblies from $Solutions\Main\Sql2012\AssemblyReferences to the same location you are loading MSBuild.ExtensionPack.Sql2012.dll from and let me know if it resolves it.

If it does not, please send your full error message and how you are using the task

providing the .dlls from the AssemblyReferences folder was the solution.

Thanks a lot

To run the tasks on an Win XP machine I had to add 2 additional references:
  • Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlEnum.dll
  • Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlClrProvider.dll
But now all tasks I am using, run fine.
