description

Hi.

Thank you for MSBuild Extension Pack.

I would like to request support for passing the /bypass parameter to tf.exe in TFSSource.cs for tfs check-ins.

See the related discussion here.

Thank you.

Hi Mike

I'm a bit confused, because the Bypass option does not seem to be available in the current release (3.5.14.0 as of October 2013). The release assigned for this feature is indeed April 2013. The current source code also shows a property named "Bypass".
Is this option by design only available in release 4.0.8.0 and not in 3.5.14.0?

Best Regards

Hi

Yes this is 'by design'. For a while various new enhancements and fixes have only been made to the 4. codebase. In some cases both have been updated. The next release will make a clearer statement on the roadmap but expect the 3.5 code to go into maintenance mode where only significant bugs are fixed. There will be cases where it may get a feature update (there is no definitive rule) but in general 4. will be the place where new features and fixes are made. I can look at adding in the bypass argument in the next release (3.5.14.1 / 3.5.15.0 im not sure yet) if you are unable to move to 4..

Don't see this as a ditching 3.5 statement, I'll try elaborate more in a blog post soon when we ship the next release (hopefully this month).

Appreciate your feedback.

Mike
